So, after almost a year of taking a break, numerous emails and people still making them regardless, we have decided to launch the Mixtape of the Month series. If you are unsure what it is about, we are giving up and coming DJs the chance to have their selection/mix showcased on our site and full feature interview, as our Editor Kyriacos Stylianou explains:
“There is a whole world of talent that is not given the opportunity to be heard or to receive media exposure. We believe in supporting and nurturing new talent.
Of course we are not just looking for any DJ that plays the latest Reggae Top 100, we are looking for technical skill, track selection, pushing boundaries, the ability to tell a story with a mix, rather than play a blinder peak time set .
Part of being a DJ is to explore your own musical tastes and build upon it to reach out to your crowd rather then just play the same music as everyone else. We think this is a great opportunity to help kick start a DJ.”

So how does it work?
– Record your one hour mixtape (no more, no less than 60 minutes)
– Name it as CDC radio Mixtape of the Month (add the month ie: August)Submission ( then add your name ) Ie: CDC radio Mixtape of the Month December Submission – DJ XX
– Upload to either Mixcloud or Soundcloud
– Add your tracklisting (essential)
– Tag our Facebook page – https://www.facebook.com/cdcstation OR Drop your mix into our messenger with a little story about yourself/your sound (so we can upload it with your mix)
– Share with your friends
– You can play what you like, be it Ska,Rocksteady,Roots Reggae or Dub, but under no circumstances it to be EDM (Ie: Trap, dubstep, commercial music).– You may use Facebook, Twitter, Instagram to promote or even your own database, it is up to you, but please respect peoples accounts and do not spam.– DJ's don't have to be from Cyprus this is UNIVERSAL CALLING
