Ras Lion is a music addict: from production to promotion, from selection to engineering to celebration to collection… As the head of the Lion’s Den and musical activist, he runs a label, a sound system, a studio and promotion. He is further a founding member of DubDerGutenHoffnung and part of the Serendubity Festival Crew.
His musical works move mostly in sounds as Dub, Steppaz, Reggae, but sometimes also touch other styles. Always on a musical mission, Ras Lion collaborates with various vocalists, musicians and producers from all over the world – all about connecting different people, different influences and inspiration, merging creative energies.
Live a fine selection of tuff dubs and conscious lyrics combine to make the massive skank and spread positive vibes all around in a sound system style, Lion’s Den fashion – Ras Lion (selekta / operator / engineer) mostly joined on lyrical duties by the multilingual MCs/singers Kali Green and konTa or guests.

Lion’s Den is a label, a sound system, a studio and a production and promotion force focused all around music currently situated in Berlin, Germany.

Started by the musical activist Ras Lion a few years ago Lion’s Den has constantly been moving forward on all aspects of delivering finest in conscious music ever since – in the studio, on vinyl or at a dance.
Always on a musical mission to merge creative energies – connecting different people, different influences and inspiration – Lion’s Den is working with various vocalists, musicians and producers from all over the world.
The record label is specialized in Dub, Steppaz, Reggae, and other music in the same terrain on vinyl and digitally, including videos, art installations, merchandise, etc.
A fine selection of records, tuff dubs and conscious lyrics, some heavyweight speakerboxes and amplifiers and a deep love for the music combined provide for positive vibes and a special experience at any session near or far when Lion’s Den come with their sound – Ras Lion (selekta / operator / engineer), mostly joined on lyrical duties by the multilingual MCs/singers Kali Green and konTa or guests.

Another strong force in the Lion’s Den is designer, selekta & producer Darkwing Dub from Austria with some great visual and musical artillery.

an original soundman, Ras Digby (Sir Jessus Soundsystem) is coming to Cyprus on May 5th to meet Roots Crew Soundsystem.

Συνεχίζοντας την προώθηση της μουσικής κουλτούρας των reggae ηχοσυστημάτων, το Roots Crew Sound System φιλοξενεί για δεύτερη φορά στην Κύπρο έναν σημαντικό εκπρόσωπο της σκηνής αυτής, από το Λονδίνο.

Ο Digby Austin, γνωστός ως Ras Digby ‘the Revival Champion’, υπήρξε ένα από τα μέλη του Sir Jessus Sound System, το οποίο κατά τη δεκαετία του ΄70 είχε εξελιχθεί σε ένα από τα πιο σημαντικά ηχοσυστήματα του Δυτικού Λονδίνου. Κατά τη δεκαετία του ΄80 παρέμεινε ενεργός Selector και Toaster, παρουσιάζοντας παράλληλα ραδιοφωνικές μουσικές εκπομπές. Μέχρι σήμερα συνεχίζει να ταξιδεύει και να προωθεί την roots reggae μουσική με τον δικό του ξεχωριστό τρόπο.

Στις 5 Μαΐου, στο Rocka Rolla στη Λευκωσία, ο Ras Digby με ένα δισκόφωνο, ένα μικρόφωνο και τα δικά του αποκλειστικά ακυκλοφόρητα κομμάτια (dubplates) θα επιχειρήσει να ‘διαδώσει το μήνυμα’ σε μια reggae μουσική συνάντηση με καλή ενέργεια και βαρύ μπάσο.

Aiming to promote the music culture of reggae sound systems in Cyprus, the Roots Crew Sound System hosts for the second time on the island the mighty selector Ras Digby, an important representative of this scene coming out of London.

Digby Austin, better known as Ras Digby "the Revival Champion", was a member of Sir Jessus Sound System, which in the 1970's had become one of the most important sound systems of West London. In the 1980's he remained an active Selector and Toaster while presenting radio music broadcasts. So far, he continues to travel and promote roots reggae music in his own unique style.
